My Professional Profile: Ellen A. Hughes RN

Ellen A. Hughes, BSN, RN, ACA, LNC, attended Bowling Green State University, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1978. She at the forefront of her challenging field via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations. She feels that her success is attributable primarily to good mentors, supervisors, and head nurses. When asked what made her choose a career in nursing, Ellen said that her mother, Ms. Janet Lou Schlingman, influenced greatly her career choice. Outside work, she dedicates to public speaking and enjoys reading various medical publications, including The RN Magazine and The New England Journal of Medicine.
